A successful Install at a great price

East Coast assumes full responsibility for the successful implementation of the design, installation, calibration and commissioning of the audiovisual system as outlined in the proposal.
The AV Consultant in conjunction with the client considers the various aspects of the AV Installation with reference to the type of install:
Meeting rooms
Boardrooms
Classrooms
Training rooms
AV Systems Integration
Once the proposal has been accepted, our AV Consultants work with the Project Manager to extend the proposal into a more detailed specification referred to as the Scope of Work. This is tuned to the type of installation and to the sophistication of the proposed AV solution. ECAV's Project Manager liaises with the customer on the logistical aspects including equipment delivery, room availability, job timings, OH&S, site inductions, etc.
Our team of professional technicians undetake the in-house assembly, commissioning and control system programming plus the installation work.
Installation Pricing
East Coast quoting philosophy is to provide firm pricing to so that our clients have proposals and costs that are as clear and as specific as practicable. Those prices (and the resulting work specifications) are based on our standards developed over the past 10 years.
However, there are some components where the effort involved in determining the actual costs are too great for the quoting phase. As such, East Coast has estimated costs based on average installations. This has implications for:
Cabling - Wherever practical, East Coast runs all cables internal to the walls. Sometimes, ceiling access or solid walls precludes this and conduit or ducting is required, unless the client is prepared to pay the extra for "chasing in" the cable runs. Usually when conduit or ducting is likely to be required, this is able to be identified at time of quoting.
Electrical - It is recommended that the audiovisual equipment is on a dedicated electrical circuit. If not, there is the risk of "crackling" through the audio system when electrical equipment turns on or off. If the client is using their own electrical contractor, they are requested to ensure this has been arranged. If East Coast is providing the electrical services, we will identify a dedicated circuit on a best endeavours basis. To ensure a dedicated circuit may require additional labour than anticipated in our quotation.
Projector Mounting - A shaking projector image due to air-conditioning or other ceiling vibrations is unacceptable. As part of quoting, we try to check what's above the ceiling to determine whether a fixed non-vibrating surface such as a ceiling slab is readily available and accessible. When this is not possible or practical to determine before the install starts, we'll identify this in our pricing assumptions. Where ensuring that secure mount requires any extra material or labour over our assumptions, these will be charged.

Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S)
We have an enviable record in the safety of our technicians and are keen to keep it that way. As such we base our work practices on the guidelines published by WorkcoverNSW. All our installers have at a minimum a WorkcoverNSW "Green Card".
We also understand that certain clients have their own requirements for OH&S including site inductions and we are happy to accommodate them.
After Sales Support and Warranties
For the first three months following a standard installation, East Coast provides free telephone-based support.
East Coast also warrants our workmanship related to any standard installation for twelve months. This warranty covers the cost of labour and the materials to rectify any installation-based fault on site (where practical) and is given on the basis that the users of the audiovisual system have received training, that the user has obtained appropriate first level support, and that the equipment has not been misused.
Optionally for more sophisticated environments, a maintenance contract may be more appropriate.
