Meeting Room AV Installations and Solutions

Meeting Room Installation Today, with laptops everywhere, knowledge workers should not be expected to make special arrangements for audiovisual equipment at a meeting. Ideally every meeting space should have equipment installed, adjusted and ready to go. Small items that can wander, such as remotes or special cables, need to be eliminated or secured. Operation of equipment must be literally foolproof. Group interaction using the materials being presented or worked on can be facilitated through additional AV tools.

Defining your requirements

Audio Visual's primary purpose in the meeting room is to ensure that presentations can be displayed and listened to - via projectors, screens, whiteboards and sound systems - and that the attendees can interact and collaborate. Our AV Consultants work with you to ensure the key aspects of your AV requirements are defined and the appropriate set of products identified. These may include:
  • Room purpose, layout and size, presenter and attendee configurations
  • Display - Ambient light implications, types of presentation material for appropriate viewing and resolution, display size and aspect ratios, interface to PCs and Laptops, wired, wireless or networked connections, connectivity standards to players, installation issues - resulting in the specification of a projector & screen, LCD or plasma display or other solution
  • Audio - The need for sound, its quality and zoning, and linking in to your Public Address systems
  • Interaction & Collaboration through interactive boards, tablets, wireless keyboards and mice
  • Conferencing - either by Tele or Video
  • Integration with centralised content repositories - Digital Video Commander
  • Other players including DVD, VCR, MP3, TV Receivers, etc
  • Control and Operational Reliability considerations - including Ease of use, Security, managing Remotes, Control Panels, Racks, Help Desk Administration, etc
  • Re-use of existing equipment
  • Installation approach including OH&S
  • Training needs.

An Installation that enhances your AV experience

There is a lot to consider for a successful installation - aesthetics, building integrity, electrical, occupational health and safety, overall cost and impact on normal operations. There can be a lot of pressure to cut corners - We don't.

Once the proposal is accepted, a Project Manager is assigned to the installation. An internal "Scope of Work" document is prepared to ensure all technical and procedural aspects are covered before install work starts. This may require a visit from the project manager to undertake a Site Inspection. We work with your liaison person to schedule work either during or outside of school hours and term.
